ABSTRAK

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still one of the major public health problems in Indonesia. The disease is caused by the Dengue virus of the genus Flavivirus, the Flaviviridae family. DHF is transmitted to humans through Aedes mosquito bites infected with the Dengue virus. DHF vector in Indonesia is Aedes aegypti mosquito as main vector and Aedes albopictus as secondary vector. The purpose of this research is to know the type of container and morphology of Aedes sp mosquito in Aisyiah Elementary School South Metro District. This research was conducted at Integrated Science Laboratory of University of Muhammadiyah Metro for identification morphology of Aedes sp, and in Aisyiah Elementary School of South Metro for identification of container type. This research is descriptive by using observation method and single larvae survey technique. The research results are then described the type of container where mosquito breeding and mosquito morphology. The result of the research showed that positive of Aedes aegypti larvae. in artificial water container / container of atom type as much as 18 pieces

(54%), ceramics as many as 8 pieces (24.24%), glass 2 pieces (6,060%), rubber 2 pieces (6,060%), plastic 1 pieces (3.030%), and cementas much as 2 pieces (6,060%). As for larvae Ae. albopictus mosquit. only 1 tail is found in the water reservoir in the coconut shell. Keywords: aedes aegypti mosquito, aedes albopictus mosquito, container, DHF
