The purpose of this research was to know relationship between afektif's characteristic student with competence cognitive and how much outgrows that relationship. This research was conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Metro. Population in observational is student at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Metro at class X, meanwhile the sample of observation used two class through cluster random sampling technique. This research consist of two variables which are student’s afektif characteristic and cognitive ability student’s. Afektif characteristic was gotten by using kuesioner and observation whereas student’s, cognitive ability is gotten through documentation of three sources of physics study result that consist to mid score, assigment’s score, and examination score. Base on the independent quiz result it was gotten that student’s cognitive ability point was regarded by its afektif's characteristic with significans's level 5% and it can be concluded that afektif characteristic has significant relationship to ward cognitive ability with the value of on signifikansi's level of ? = 5%. Its strength of that relationship can be seen from the result determinant coefficient 25,4% that means afektif's characteristic contribution student is 25,4% in increasing cognitif's abilities.
