ABSTRAK

A study using research and development (R & D) was carried out to design instructional model inquiry using analogy. Preliminary data is done in same physics education programs in Java and Sumatra islands. It was collected through documentation, observation and interview. Based on the data, it had been developed instructional model. The steps of data analysis were: selecting andclassifying data, coding and describing of the conclusions to decide on the theme consistent to the focus of the research. Research findings show that: 1) the inquiry process could be conducted completely in classroom by instructional model inquiry using analogy of electric series and parallel circuit concept, 2) electric series and parallel circuit could be analogy with composition series and parallel in elastic spring, and 3) inquiry learning process need are longer time, because the students were not been ready and had low capability in learning physics.
