ABSTRAK

Natural disaster do not stop as if struck Indonesia. so that is not foreign to us if you hear of events earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, droughts, landslides, and others.

Catastrophic events can not be avoided, but we can do is minimize the casualties, property and environment. Number of victims of life and property in the event of disasters that had occurred, more often due to lack of awareness and understanding of goverment and society againts the potential disaster vulnerability and mitigation efforts.

Disaster management is an activity that covers all aspects of planning and disaster management, the before, during and after the disaster known as the Disaster Management Cycle. Activities during the pre-disaster activities closely related to the term disaster mitigation is an effort to minimize the impact caused by the disaster. Disaster mitigation includes both planning and implementation of measures to reduce the risks of the impact of a disaster area before the disaster occurred, including preparedness and risk reduction measures the long term.
